Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intake, including medical history and vitals assessment.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments according to protocols.
- Administer injections and medications under the direct supervision of a provider.
- Manage patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling phone inquiries professionally.
- Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician office or clinic setting.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable transportation.
