Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist physicians during examinations by acting as a scribe and providing necessary instruments.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications as directed by providers, and prepare blood samples for analysis.
- Manage patient records, including updating Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage incoming calls, and handle front-desk administrative tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications and post-care procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software is a plus.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- High school diploma or GED required.
