Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in compliance with hospital protocols
- Perform clinical tasks including vital sign monitoring, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and maintain patient confidentiality
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment for optimal patient safety
- Facilitate smooth patient flow through efficient scheduling and communication
- Administer medications and injections under physician supervision
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) from accredited institution
- New York State Medical Assistant license or eligibility
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or NextGen preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification with current expiration date
- Exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
