Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for their appointments.
- Clinical Duties: Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate) and assist providers with examinations.
- Room Preparation: Set up examination rooms with necessary medical instruments, supplies, and equipment before patient arrival.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information, medical histories, and treatment plans into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Specimen Collection: Collect blood and other samples for lab testing as directed by healthcare providers.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of medical supplies and medications, ordering replacements as needed.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications, follow-up care, and lifestyle recommendations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but we welcome recent graduates and career changers.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using computer systems and electronic health records (EHR).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is preferred; willing to obtain upon hire.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, attention to detail, and a professional demeanor.
