Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including vitals, medical history review, and insurance verification.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and manage inventory of medical supplies.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed physicians and nurses.
- Handle patient billing and insurance claims, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff to ensure seamless care.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification is highly preferred.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
