Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and weight monitoring.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and minor medical interventions.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and confidentially in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
- Administer injections, phlebotomy, and EKGs as directed by the physician.
- Handle patient inquiries, schedule appointments, and coordinate referrals to specialists.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens efficiently.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required.
- Valid New York State Medical Assistant License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
