Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify personal and insurance information, and escort them to examination rooms.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Assistance: Prepare patients for examinations by assisting providers with procedures and ensuring patient comfort.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including updating patient charts and logging visit notes.
- Lab Work: Collect and prepare laboratory specimens (blood, urine, etc.) for testing under the supervision of clinical staff.
- Inventory: Restock exam rooms with necessary medical supplies and maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Communication: Answer patient inquiries, schedule follow-up appointments, and route phone calls appropriately.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program (CMA/RMA) is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Experience: No prior clinical experience required; passion for healthcare and patient service is essential.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Phlebotomy certification is a plus.
- Skills: Proficient in basic computer operations and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Attributes: Strong interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
