Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure high-quality care.
- Vital Signs & Intake: Accurately measure and record patient vitals, medical histories, and prepare patients for exams.
- Administrative Support: Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Laboratory Duties: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as phlebotomy, urinalysis, and EKGs, following strict safety protocols.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications and injections under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
- Communication: Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, acting as a liaison between the patient and the medical team.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA) is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR) and strong computer skills.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet patient needs.
