Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Assessments: Measure vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and record patient history accurately.
- Clinical Procedures: Prepare patients for examinations, assist providers with minor procedures, and perform basic laboratory tests.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-ins, update Electronic Health Records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Medication Management: Assist with medication administration and ensure proper documentation of patient medications.
- Room Preparation: Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies for provider use.
- Patient Communication: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications, follow-up care, and appointment scheduling.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
