Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and EKGs accurately.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams and maintain exam rooms in a sanitized, organized state.
- Handle patient intake, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records with strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers to resolve billing and administrative issues.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.
