Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examination, take vital signs, and assist providers during medical procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient intake, update medical records accurately in the EHR system, and handle insurance verification.
- Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and administer injections/medications under provider supervision.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to all hygiene protocols and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the medical team, answering questions and scheduling follow-ups.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistant program is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
- License: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
