Responsibilities
- Prepare Patients: Greet patients, verify information, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and updating medical histories.
- Assist Providers: Accompany physicians during patient visits, recording patient information, and assisting with minor procedures.
- Perform Lab Work: Collect and process blood samples, urine, and other specimens accurately and in accordance with safety protocols.
- Manage Administrative Tasks: Handle scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, and electronic health record (EHR) updates efficiently.
- Medication Management: Assist in medication reconciliation and ensuring patients understand their discharge instructions and medication plans.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean and sterile environment by adhering to strict sanitation and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Certification: Current CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or NCMA certification is preferred.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is a plus.
