About the Position:
As a Medical Assistant, you will be the vital link between our patients and their care team. This entry-level role is perfect for recent graduates or those seeking a career change into the medical field.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by recording medical histories, measuring vital signs, and reviewing symptoms.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient visits by providing instruments and materials.
- Perform clinical duties including drawing blood, administering medications as directed, and performing basic EKGs.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring strict sterilization and cleanliness standards.
- Update and maintain patient medical records and administrative paperwork.
- Instruct patients on medications, diet, and post-procedure home care.
- Perform clerical tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and verifying insurance information.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is a plus but not required for entry-level candidates.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
