Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and accurately verify personal and insurance information upon check-in.
- Record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and maintain a sterile environment.
- Assist providers during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Manage and update patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Provide patient education on preventative care and medication instructions.
- Coordinate appointments and manage incoming patient communications.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a strong plus.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred but not required for this entry-level position.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
- Reliable transportation is required.
