Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and assisting with physical exams.
- Perform basic laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy and point-of-care testing, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Assist providers during medical procedures and minor office surgeries.
- Coordinate patient follow-ups, refill requests, and appointment scheduling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized clinical environment to ensure infection control standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, answering questions and providing education on treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required; graduation from an accredited program is a plus.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty medical setting preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner) is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centric care.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment.
