Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and escort them to examination rooms, ensuring a comfortable and professional atmosphere.
- Record vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms accurately into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment, stocking supplies, and arranging instruments.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient inquiries via phone and email, scheduling appointments and refilling prescriptions as directed.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, but entry-level candidates with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, such as Epic or AthenaHealth.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting patients or equipment.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible shifts including weekends or evenings.
