Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for their visit.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Provider Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with phlebotomy as needed.
- Documentation: Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle phone inquiries, schedule appointments, and manage inventory of medical supplies.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required; CMA or Phlebotomy certification is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and ability to learn EHR systems quickly.
- Reliability: Must be dependable and willing to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift light objects (up to 25 lbs).
