As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care. You will work closely with our experienced nursing staff and physicians to streamline clinical operations and enhance patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and prepare patients for examination.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, update medical records, and handle insurance verification.
- Assist with Procedures: Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist physicians and nurses during medical procedures.
- Phlebotomy & Lab: Collect blood and other specimens for lab tests as required, following strict safety protocols.
- Communication: Communicate test results to patients and physicians, and answer questions regarding medications and treatments.
- Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Certification: CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or similar certification preferred; on-the-job training available for qualified candidates.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for patient care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform fine motor skills.
- Background: No prior healthcare experience required, but a strong desire to learn and grow in a clinical setting is essential.
