Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Greet patients, verify their identity, and prepare them for examinations or procedures.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians during exams, perform vital signs, and administer medications or injections as directed.
- Lab Duties: Collect and prepare blood samples, urine, and other specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate Electronic Health Records (EHR), schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Communication: Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention; answer phone inquiries professionally.
- Environment: Ensure examination rooms are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification: Current certification as a CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or NCMA is preferred; we welcome entry-level candidates willing to obtain certification.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with medical software (Epic, Cerner, etc.) is a plus.
- Personality: Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy and patient confidentiality.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
