As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clinic runs smoothly and our patients receive the best care possible.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments, collecting necessary demographic and insurance information.
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and promptly.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments and equipment to maintain a safe environment.
- Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis and blood draws, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient records electronically, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and HIPAA compliant.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to verify benefits and process claims.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification for healthcare providers.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends if needed.
