Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration monitoring.
- Prepare patients for examination by the physician, ensuring comfort and privacy.
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and minor office surgeries.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and according to state regulations.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Handle patient intake, including insurance verification and demographic updates.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized examination room environment.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA, RMA, or MA (NC) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen.
