Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and accurately verify their personal and insurance information.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical history, and updating charts.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during exams and procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Instruct patients on medication usage, diet, and post-care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized examination room environment.
- Handle administrative duties including scheduling appointments and answering phone inquiries.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
