Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify personal information to ensure accurate check-in processes.
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and document patient medical histories.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs when qualified.
- Manage front desk administrative duties including scheduling appointments and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and preventative care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary clinical environment in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred but willing to train motivated candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Valid Texas driverβs license and reliable transportation (if applicable for outreach duties).
