Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Care: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations by the provider.
- Vitals & Assisting: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and assist physicians during examinations.
- Lab & Procedures: Perform basic lab tests, EKGs, and phlebotomy duties following strict safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Administrative Support: Manage electronic health records (EHR), schedule appointments, and process insurance claims efficiently.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and patient instructions to ensure compliance and understanding.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, sterile environment and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Availability: Must be available for flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings if necessary.
