Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient intake, including medical history reviews and vital sign measurements.
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure efficient provider workflows.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer injections, phlebotomy, and EKGs as directed by the healthcare team.
- Manage and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Handle insurance verification and patient billing inquiries with professionalism.
- Provide clear patient education regarding medications, procedures, and aftercare instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certifications.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Proficient in using EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy, dynamic environment.
- San Diego residency is preferred.
