Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient records accurately, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification and billing inquiries efficiently.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and injections while maintaining strict sterility and safety protocols.
- Lab Work: Collect and process lab specimens, ensuring all samples are labeled and transported correctly to the laboratory.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, answering questions and providing clear instructions.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and Apex Health Partners' policies regarding patient confidentiality and data protection.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and clarity.
- Location Flexibility: Willingness to work in San Francisco, CA, with potential opportunities for North Carolina assignments.
