Responsibilities
- Greet patients and check them in accurately, verifying insurance information and personal details.
- Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting providers and explaining procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analyses, and draw blood samples for testing.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and maintain accurate patient charts.
- Assist with administrative duties including scheduling appointments and processing billing.
- Provide patient education on medications, diets, and post-procedure care instructions.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
