Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories, measuring vital signs, and recording information in electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Maintain a clean and organized examination room environment, ensuring strict sterilization protocols.
- Answer patient inquiries and coordinate follow-up appointments.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED; post-secondary education in a medical field is a plus.
