Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during medical procedures.
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab work (phlebotomy experience preferred).
- Manage patient records and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Coordinate patient flow, manage appointment scheduling, and handle incoming calls.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe clinical environment in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as processing insurance claims and billing.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is strongly preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- Proficient in medical terminology and computerized EHR systems (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Houston metro area.
