Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, verifying demographics and insurance information accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Assist providers during patient examinations by preparing instruments and documenting procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers, strictly following safety protocols.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and EKGs, and prepare samples for analysis.
- Manage patient records electronically, ensuring HIPAA compliance and data accuracy.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as assisting patients with mobility.
