Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, check them in, and update their medical records accurately.
- Vitals & Assessments: Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and assist with basic physical exams.
- Procedures: Assist providers with minor procedures, injections, and draw blood (phlebotomy) as needed.
- Administrative Duties: Manage phone inquiries, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Lab Work: Prepare lab samples and ensure specimens are handled correctly for testing.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
