Responsibilities

  • Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration, and record accurate data in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Prepare patients for examination by the physician, ensuring privacy and comfort are maintained.
  • Assist providers during exams and procedures, ensuring proper infection control protocols are followed.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and according to state regulations.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and EKGs, with precision and care.
  • Manage front desk and administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, answering calls, and handling patient inquiries efficiently.
  • Ensure the medical office and equipment are clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification.
  • Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) preferred.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer proficiency with experience in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment up to 50 lbs as needed.
