Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by reviewing their medical history and taking vital signs.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as directed by a provider.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and EKGs, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and answering patient inquiries.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patients.
- Proficiency in using computerized medical software and office equipment.
