Responsibilities

  • Patient Care & Support: Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the visit.
  • Vital Signs & Assessment: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and update patient medical records.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including insurance verification and appointment scheduling.
  • Lab & Testing: Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs as directed by the physician.
  • Medication Management: Prepare medications for administration and assist with medication reconciliation under provider supervision.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized clinical environment and exam rooms.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate patient concerns and instructions to the clinical team and patients.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Current certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is highly desirable.
