Responsibilities

  • Perform routine patient vitals, medical history reviews, and prepare patients for examination by providers.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens accurately for testing.
  • Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with detailed and timely documentation.
  • Instruct patients on medications, post-procedure care, and follow-up appointments.
  • Ensure examination rooms are sanitized, stocked, and organized for patient safety.
  • Collaborate with front desk staff to manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and facility infection control protocols.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice or clinic setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
