Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient vitals, EKGs, and basic laboratory procedures.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Manage patient intake, check-in/check-out processes, and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Maintain sterile examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, prescriptions, and follow-up appointments.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and privacy protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current Michigan State Medical Assistant license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice or clinic setting.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED required.
