Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Care: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic information, update medical records, and assist with the intake process to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Vital Signs & Measurements: Accurately measure and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, and height.
- Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging instruments; assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations and procedures.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Work: Perform blood draws and collect specimens for lab testing following strict safety and hygiene protocols.
- Administrative Support: Schedule patient appointments, manage patient flow, handle insurance verification, and assist with basic billing inquiries.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, ensuring all safety checks are met.
- Health Education: Educate patients on preventative care, medications, and lifestyle changes to promote better health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA certification is preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and computer literacy.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Professionalism: High attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
