Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians with clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient histories, vital signs, and clinical data in EHR systems
- Administer medications, injections, and perform routine lab tests
- Sterilize medical instruments and maintain clean examination rooms
- Schedule appointments and handle patient correspondence
- Assist with insurance verification and billing documentation
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- New York State Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Excellent interpersonal and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work flexible shifts including occasional evenings
