Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment prior to patient visits.
- Assist providers during physical exams and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient symptoms accurately.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians and within scope of practice.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including insurance verification and co-pays.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and post-procedure care.
- Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
