Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and explaining treatment plans.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nursing staff during exams, procedures, and treatments; perform basic laboratory tests and draw blood samples.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, schedule appointments, and handle billing inquiries accurately.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, ensuring patient safety and proper documentation.
- Communication: Educate patients on medications, diets, and home care instructions; act as a liaison between the patient and the medical team.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain examination rooms and medical equipment in a clean, sterile, and organized condition.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in phlebotomy, EKG, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistant program is a plus.
