Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital signs measurements (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and record accurate data in patient charts.
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking, changing gowns, and positioning them correctly.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians, strictly following safety and protocol guidelines.
- Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining patient records.
- Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound care management under direct supervision.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, diet, and lifestyle changes to promote better health outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong computer literacy and typing skills.
