Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and verify demographic information to ensure accuracy in medical records.
  • Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking and vitals (BP, HR, weight).
  • Assist providers during physical exams, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by licensed providers.
  • Perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, and spirometry according to established protocols.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure the examination rooms are fully stocked and sanitized.
  • Coordinate patient referrals and communicate clearly with external specialists and insurance companies.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or MA) required.
  • CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty practice preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
