Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including obtaining vital signs and medical history.
- Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Prepare and maintain medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Coordinate laboratory tests and ensure specimens are collected properly.
- Greet patients and ensure a positive, welcoming clinic experience.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including scheduling and insurance verification.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
