Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner while managing check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure all medical equipment is functioning correctly.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis and blood draws, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and maintaining confidentiality.
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventative care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician practice or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Valid FL driver's license and reliable transportation (if required for clinic rotations).
