Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with draping and positioning.
- Measure vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and accurately record data.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Assist providers with minor procedures and provide patient education.
- Manage front office duties, including scheduling appointments and updating electronic medical records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary examination room environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced medical setting.
- Attention to detail and a strict commitment to patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Candidates must be willing to obtain required state certifications within a specified timeframe.
