Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and ensure they are seated comfortably in the examination room.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and recording medical histories.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during physical exams and minor procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, including updating patient charts and logging visit notes.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and document doses accurately.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and handle insurance verification processes.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and comfort.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
