Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and escort them to examination rooms.
- Vital Signs & Assessment: Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Assistance: Assist providers during examinations, perform basic procedures (e.g., EKGs, injections, wound care) as directed.
- Lab Work: Collect and prepare blood or tissue samples for lab analysis and perform basic point-of-care testing.
- Admin Support: Manage patient charts, schedule appointments, and handle incoming calls and emails professionally.
- Inventory: Maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and supply inventories to ensure readiness for daily operations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
