Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and recording information into electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and medical procedures.
- Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as prescribed by providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and urinalysis, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Coordinate patient appointments, handle incoming calls, and manage front desk administrative duties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized clinical environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association).
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
