Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and perform basic laboratory tests
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and maintain electronic health records (EHR)
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations under provider supervision
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and compliant with OSHA standards
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care protocols
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with specialists and insurance providers
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- High school diploma or equivalent with relevant vocational training
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification and knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Phlebotomy and EKG certification strongly preferred
