Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist providers during patient exams, take vitals, and document medical history accurately.
- Clinical Duties: Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and administer injections or medications as prescribed.
- Administrative Support: Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and handling patient inquiries.
- Record Management: Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring proper handling and timely results.
- Inventory: Monitor and order medical supplies and equipment to ensure clinic readiness.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or equivalent certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Valid state Medical Assistant license required.
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to medical office protocols.
